No-till garden.?
I'm trying to develop a no-till garden. There is a place I want to use planted in sweet corn. What would be good crops to grow over the winter to help prepare the ground and also provides organic matter and mulch for next year? I live in Southern Illinois. I'm thinking using a mixture of legumes for nitrogen fixation, no other organic matter / mulch, and possibly a second crop with deep roots in the soil penetration. I would like could not start planting until the last week of April. If anyone has any experience with no-till gardening, I would like to hear your input. Thank you
