Organic light emitting diode, or OLED television TVs are televisions where light emitting diode or light emitting polymer used. The organic light emitting diode, any form of light emitting diode has an emissive electroluminescent layer comprising a film of organic compounds. This layer contains some polymeric substance that allows suitable organic compounds to be deposited. DEPOSITS displayed in rows and columns, forming a solid carrier by a simple printing process. This results in a matrix of pixels which can emit light in different colors.

These systems can be used in television screens and computer monitors and other small and portable screens such as mobile phones and PDAs themselves. They are also extensively used in advertising and indication. In addition to specialties OLEDs used in various light sources for general lighting and large area light emitting elements. Generally, they produce less light per area compared with the inorganic LEDs are solid-state based and is primarily intended for point – light source applications.

The main advantage of the organic light emitting diode TV over the traditional liquid crystal displays (LCD), is their ability to function without a backlight. These units do not require a backlight to function, and therefore prefer much less power to their LCD counterparts and other televisions. Because of this, they can operate for a long time even when powered by a battery. Again because of this ability to operate without backlighting, OLED display can be much thinner than their LCD counterparts. But they have one major limitation; their materials escalate quite rapidly, which limits their use.

The electroluminescence of organic materials was first produced in the early 1950s by Bernanose and employees in enterprises at Nancy University in France, using high-voltage alternating current in the air to quinacridine and acridine orange, which is either deposited or dissolved in the cellulose or thin film of cellophane. The first attempt to create a polymer LED was however made by Rodger Partridge at the National Museum Physics Laboratory, United Kingdom, a project succeeded, and was later patented in 1975. However, publication delayed to 1983.
A typical OLED consists of a conductive layer, an Emissive Layer and the three terminals of substrate, anode and cathode. The organic molecules forming layers conduct electricity and conductivity levels, ranging from insulators to conductors. In this context, OLED is considered as organic semiconductors.

The various manufacturing processes enable OLED many advantages over the flat screens, which is made of LCD technology. Firstly OLED TV has a significantly lower cost than plasma screens. They also allow for a wide selection of colors, contrast, brightness and viewing angle as pixels emit light directly. Furthermore, OLED colors appear more accurate and un-shifted himself with viewing angles approaching 90 degrees from normal. Most importantly, OLED television saves a lot of energy.
